Moist Skin Problems (Eczema)

Moist skin problems (Eczema)

Western Medicine believes that moist skin disorders (eczema) are caused allergens but also recognizes that it often occurs for no known reason. Some Western Medical physicians believe the causes are from genetic or psychological factors.

Western Medicine uses oils or lotions on the affected areas to keep the skin soft. In many cases, antihistamine drugs for itching, corticosteroid drugs for pain, and antibiotic drugs for infections are prescribed.

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that the body’s muscles and moisture circulation is controlled by the spleen. Ordinarily, the excess moisture in the body is released through the bowels, however, lack of exercise and consumption of excessive amounts of sweet or sour foods will cause the moisture to be released through the skin. This may look like a skin disease but the problem is actually deeper in the muscles.

Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine will use herbs to strengthen the kidney’s to maintain good water circulation, decrease the temperature in the small intestine, eliminate excess moisture from the large intestine, absorb excess moisture, and stop itching. Steroids will damage the kidneys and must be avoided.

Testimonial of Eczema

I have had chronic skin disease on my foot for 5 years.  Symptoms have included extreme dryness,  unbearable itching (keeping me awake at night), painful cracks and at it’s worst extreme swelling and infection making walking difficult and putting a shoe on impossible.  Two doctors in the first year diagnosed athlete’s foot and I treated it with conventional medications which didn’t help, and tea tree oil which only dried it out and made the cracking more severe.  Finding it hard to cope I paid lots of money to see a dermatologist who said it was not athlete’s foot but either ezcema or psoriasis and gave me lemnis fatty cream (a petroleum based product), to manage the dryness.  After years of fluctuating between moderate to severe itching and pain, and ending up with infection going up my leg, I finally asked Szenan to treat me.  He gave me acupuncture and herbs and told me to modify my diet slightly and the improvement began straight away with the infection subsiding and the swelling going down after a few days and after a few weeks my foot looked normal!!!   Now I can walk normally and wear shoes and run and dance without pain and limping!!  I can sleep through the night without waking up itching my foot to pieces.
